Chelsea Flower Show

George Harrison tribute garden at Chelsea Flower Show

This was a challenging project. I divided the garden into four time zones representing Georges childhood, the psychedelic 60's, his 'mature years' at Friar Park - and finally, across the stream, the afterlife. The temple was made of limed wood and canvas with a beautiful marble floor embedded with Swarovski crystals. The gardeners at Friar Park grew the vegetables, and the wild grass and flowers of George's childhood were transplanted from the Friar park. Plants for the psychedelic area had to be specially grown. The white and silver planting around the temple reflected the stillness inside and the final touch was to have George's music playing softly in the background. It took almost a year full time to do it but not a wasted moment.
