Chelsea Flower Show
construction of a formal Suffolk garden

A formal touch to a
Suffolk garden

The barn is set in the middle of a suffolk landscape.  There is a large open area of lawn and trees with a pretty wild flower meadow.  A more formal enclosed area was required close to the barn for family use and entertaining. We used the existing patio materials for the stone circle and bricks the colour of the barn to extend the circle to the size it is now.  We were able to transfer some existing box hedging from another part of the garden giving the new area a 'mature' look.  The photograph was taken  a month or so after the hard landscaping was finished.  The oak decking will darken, the bricks will tone down and the planting will fill out.
